NEWS: Royal Flying Doctor Service not in association with Elbit
BDS Australia, on behalf of its member groups is pleased to announce that the Royal Flying Doctors (RFDS), South East Section, has advised that it has not entered into any commercial or contractual agreement with Elbit Systems Australia.
The RFDS has stated that while Elbit Systems Australia was announced as a supplier of a flight simulator following an initial request for a tender process early in 2016, this has not eventuated. We understand that the RFDS is considering alternate flight training options as part of their forthcoming Dubbo base development.

Would you fly our doctors using money from the arms trade?
Israel’s largest military equipment company, Elbit Systems, have been a target for successful divestment campaigns worldwide for their role in continuing the illegal occupation of Palestinian Territories.
Thanks to a deal brokered by the NSW state government, Elbit Systems will run a commercial flight simulator centre on the NSW Dubbo base of the Royal Flying Doctor Service. Elbit will contribute $10 million towards this training centre and will control the establishment, operations, training services and maintenance of the centre within the base. As a commercial enterprise Elbit will also train other clients at this facility.
Don’t make medicine a deadly occupation.
BDS Australia wrote an open letter to the Royal Flying Doctor Service requesting that they immediately reconsider the arrangement with Elbit.
